- re-forming the remains of a former identity.
Just as the snake leaves behind their old skin we do the same with our former identities. Our old skins wait for resurrection in the obscure spaces of the second hand stores, with the smell of old discarded models of what we once called "me" or at least “my style”. Where did it go, your old self? And what parts of you was thrown out together with your skin?
Using the skin (literally) as a vehicle for a journey exploring the re-forming of a second skin. A second-hand leather jacket totally unstitched and re-made after a pattern by Yohji Yamamoto, patching together the former pieces into a the form of the hacked new pattern.
An ongoing project re-evaluating radical hacking of skin and memory.
